“Live simple, love well, and take time to smell the flowers along the way.” - Mark Twain
Our Story
Hannacroix Hill Farm, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Climax, NY, is a labor of love founded by Allen and Nicole. Although our official journey began in 2020, our roots run deep, inspired by a commitment to agriculture, community, and sustainability.
In our pursuit of returning to our agricultural heritage, we acquired an 1850s farmhouse set against the stunning backdrop of the Hudson River Valley and the Catskill Mountains. With ten acres of fertile land, we have dedicated ourselves to revitalizing this property into a flourishing farm.
Our Farm
Our journey began with the construction of a sugar house to process sap into pure maple syrup, symbolizing our dedication and hard work. We have since reintroduced a variety of livestock, including over 50 egg-laying hens, a herd of ADGA registered Nubian dairy goats, and foraging hogs that roam our woodlands. Our rotational grazing practices ensure that our pastures remain healthy and vibrant.
Today, Hannacroix Hill Farm specializes in the production of cut flowers. Our farm features two greenhouses and a quarter-acre dedicated to producing exquisite blooms from April through October. We pride ourselves on being good stewards of the land, utilizing regenerative farming practices and employing a diverse Integrated Pest Management system that minimizes the use of organic pesticides. We do this so you can feel safe and confident in bringing these flowers in to your home to enjoy!
Our Commitment
We are passionate about continuous learning and best practices in sustainable farming. Nicole is a Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener, an active member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, and an alumna of The Tulip Workshop. Through her dedication, we strive to cultivate not just plants, but a thriving community that values sustainability and the beauty of nature.
The invitation is open for you to join us on this journey. Together, let’s reconnect with the earth and embrace a future of growth, abundance, and community. Thank you for supporting our mission.
Why Local Flowers?
When you choose flowers from Hannacroix Hill Farm, you’re not just bringing beauty into your home—you’re embracing a commitment to freshness and sustainability.
Our blooms go from field to vase quickly, ensuring a longer vase life for you to enjoy. By supporting your local flower farmer, you’re choosing a vibrant alternative. Just as a fresh tomato plucked from the vine in July tastes infinitely better than one from the market in January, locally grown flowers are unmatched in quality. Consider this: over 80% of flowers sold in the United States are imported from thousands of miles away. These flowers are often harvested a week before they reach store shelves and are heavily treated with insecticides to meet USDA import regulations. Is that really the fragrance and experience you want to bring into your home?
At Hannacroix Hill Farm, we are dedicated to offering our community a diverse selection of seasonal flowers. Choose local, choose fresh, and let us bring the beauty of nature into your home. Your support not only enhances your space but also strengthens our local economy and promotes sustainable practices. Experience the difference today!
“I’ve purchased a bouquet subscription two years now. The flowers last so long, the monthly subscription is perfect for me! Plus, I know I can pick up a few “in-between” bouquets when I want. I just love having fresh flowers in my home. I even bought a subscription for my mom this year.”
